Europa League Semi-Finals: Where to Watch Roma vs Bayer Leverkusen and Marseille vs Atalanta

It’s Europa League time, with Italy still protagonists and ready to play their cards to reach the final of the competition. In the field Marseille-Atalanta e Roma-Bayer Leverkusen. We have reached the semi-final and both matches will be free-to-air, on TV and streaming.

Where to see Roma Bayer Leverkusen

De Rossi’s Roma was reborn in terms of play, determination and conviction. The Giallorossi have the full intention of confirming their European propensity, Mourinho’s legacy. A second Europa League final is within reach, but a tough opponent looms ahead, to say the least, Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen, who have dominated the Bundesliga.

The match at the Olimpico, valid for the first leg of the double clash, will be visible in clear on Rai 1, with connection starting at 8.35pm (the race starts at 9.00pm). The national network has the right to broadcast two of the four Europa League semi-finals, both home and away. We opted for the Giallorossi in this round.

Marseille Atalanta where to see it

Gasperini’s Atalanta continues to amaze in Europe but it is time for the Orobic team to aspire to a greater goal than in recent years. Reaching the final of the tournament would be a reward for the hard work put in, beyond a possible triumph.

Atalanta deserves to be officially recognized among the most ambitious and capable teams in Europe. Have Klopp’s Liverpool beat it’s nothing more than yet another confirmation. The semi-final against Marseille will be free-to-air, like that of the Giallorossi, but not free-to-air.

As mentioned, Rai chose Roma, but AgCom imposes than the Europa League semi-finals involving Italian women come transmitted at no cost. Marseille-Atalanta will therefore be free but there is no imposition regarding the possibility of broadcasting the match live or deferred. For this reason Sky has opted for this solution: Marseille-Atalanta free to air on TV8 at the end of the final whistle, precisely at 11.00 pm.

AgCom rules

What was imposed by the AgCom is interesting, with reference to the 2012 resolution. Not everyone is aware of the mandatory broadcast of some sporting events free-to-air. Let’s see in detail what it is.

An important clarification, in a condition like the current one. The football package is in fact widely divided, with Serie A entirely on Dazn, partially on Sky, which boasts the European cups, partly present on the directly competing platform.

The Authority has prepared a list of sporting events to be guaranteed in a free schedule for at least 80% of the population. For this reason it is possible to follow our colors, and not only, at the summer and winter Olympics. Added to this are the Giro d’Italia, the Italian Formula 1 GP and the Moto GP, semi-finals and finals of the basketball, water polo, volleyball and rugby World Cups, if Italy participates.

The package also includes all the Italian matches at the Six Nations rugby tournament. The same goes for the road cycling world championship. Looking specifically at the football field:

  • World – All Italy’s matches and, regardless of our team’s qualification, the final of the tournament;
  • Europeans – All Italy’s matches and, regardless of our team’s qualification, the final of the tournament;
  • Champions League – Semi-finals and final, if Italian teams participate;
  • Europa League – Semi-finals and final, if Italian teams participate.
