Emerging Archery Star Angela Ruiz Takes Aim at Paris 2024 Olympics

Mexico City. Between the Olympic medalists Aída Román (London 2012) and Alejandra Valencia (Tokyo 2020), one of those figures that emerges little by little.

At just 17 years old, Ángela Ruiz made her way among the giants of archery in Mexico to earn a place on the team that will compete for our country at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“There will be another case in which a Mexican archer reaches the Olympics at an early age, so once the goal of qualifying is achieved, I can aspire to a lot because I am supported by a great team,” commented Ruiz, who will make her debut in a summer tournament at Same age as Valencia did in London 2012 (18).

Angela’s Olympic cycle has been perfect. At 16 she became a Central American bronze medalist in San Salvador and team monarch; At 17 she achieved a silver medal overall at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. At 18 she could win an Olympic medal.

“It would be a dream to come of age that way. I have been preparing for many years and I am going to put all my effort into making it happen. I have learned from the best so I go with a winning mentality.
