The White Sox on Wednesday disabled Dominican Eloy Jiménez for the second time this season, sending him to the 10-day injured list.
The 27-year-old slugger injured his left hamstring while running from home plate to first after a single in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s game against the Blue Jays at Rogers Centre.
In 36 games this year, Jiménez is hitting .231/.288/.381 with five home runs and 12 RBIs.
Additionally, the club also placed right-hander Steven Wilson on the 15-day disabled list, in a move retroactive to Monday, with a back strain. Wilson, 29, has a 1.08 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his last 10 appearances with Chicago.
