Elkan Baggott Ipswich Town Club Promoted to the Premier League

KOMPAS.com – Elkan Baggott’s parent club, Ipswich Town, confirmed promotion to the Premier League, after waiting 22 years.

Ipswich Town won promotion tickets to the highest caste of the English League, Premier League 2024-2025, via a 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at Portman Road, Saturday (4/5/2024).

The Ipswich vs Huddersfield match is part of the 46th week of the Championship Division, aka the 2023-2024 Premier League second caste competition.

In fact, Kierran McKenna’s Ipswich only need one additional point to ensure promotion to the Premier League.

However, the team, aka The Tractor Boys, ensured promotion in the best way, namely by winning over Huddersfield.

Ipswich’s victory was confirmed by goals from Wes Burns (27′) and Omari Hutchinson (48′).

Thus, the two automatic promotion tickets to the 2024-2025 Premier League already have owners.

Before Ipswich confirmed themselves to be promoted, Leicester City first secured a promotion ticket on Friday 26 April, just after Leeds United was crushed by Queens Park Rangers 0-4.

This success is clearly worth celebrating for Ipswich. They succeeded in successive promotions from the third division, aka League One, to the Premier League.

The BBC noted that since the Premier League era which began in 1992-1993, only five teams have been able to do this, Ipswich being the latest.

The Tractor Boys follow in the footsteps of Watford (1998-1999 and 1999-2000), Man City (1999-2000 and 2000-2001), Norwich City (2010-2011 and 2011-2012) and Southampton (2011-2012 and 2012-2013) .

Not only that, Ipswich closed the 2023-2024 Championship Division season with 96 points. This is the second most points achieved in a competitive season that Ipswich has ever played, after the record of 98 points in League One 2022-2023.

Championship Division 2023-2024 now only has one promotion ticket remaining to the Premier League which will be contested in the round playoff.

Playoff promotion to the Premier League will bring together Norwich vs Leeds and West Brom vs Southampton. The winners of the two matches will duel in the final match which will bet the final ticket to the top caste of the Premier League.

Ipswich Town’s successful promotion to the Premier League certainly also attracted the name Elkan Baggott.
