Trailing 8-3 after four innings, the Jays found a way to get back into the game. Davis Schneider and Danny Jansen hit solo home runs in the fifth period. An inning later, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit a single that allowed Cavan Biggio and Daulton Varsho to step on the plate to tie the score.

The Queen City team took the lead for the first time and for good in the seventh inning, when Ernie Clement drove Jansen to the plate with a single. A sacrifice fly from Schneider also added a point to the Blue Jays’ haul in this inning.

The rest of the game was up to the Jays relievers. Yimi Garcia and Jordan Romano did not give anything to their rivals, who respectively spent the eighth and ninth rounds on the mound. The Blue Jays starter for this game, Kevin Gausman had a rough outing. He gave up seven runs on 10 hits in three innings of work.

Guerrero Jr. had a particularly strong game with four hits in five appearances at the plate. He produced two runs and scored three.

To return to Julien, the Quebecer hit two hits, including one in his first at-bat. He also scored a run, drew a walk and was struck out twice. The second cushion player also stood out on defense a few times.

Carlos Santana and Ryan Jeffers kicked the ball out of bounds to the losing side.

The Blue Jays and Twins will meet again Sunday afternoon for the third and final game of their series, which is currently tied 1-1.
