Édouard Julien helps lead Twins to victory over Rangers

Quebecer Édouard Julien had a hit and produced a run in three at-bats, helping the Minnesota Twins defeat the Texas Rangers 3-2 on Friday night.

Alex Kirilloff hit the game-winning homer in the fourth inning for the Twins, who retired 15 of the Rangers’ final 16 batters to win.

Carlos Correa, Christian Vazquez and Jose Miranda all had two hits in the victory. After a seven-game losing streak, the Twins have now won their last three games.

Corey Seager produced two runs with a homer in the first inning, but the Rangers did not add anything to the score thereafter.

Bailey Ober (5-2) signed the victory. He allowed two runs, four hits and three walks. In five innings of work, he struck out five batters.

For the Rangers, José Urena (1-4) allowed three runs and nine hits. The pitcher struck out six batters in five innings on the mound.
