Ederson Santana de Moraes, Ederson for short, may be in his last weeks at Manchester City. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian can leave ‘with the right offer’ and there is said to be interest from Saudi Arabia.

The Italian transfer market expert reports the news on Tuesday on X. “Ederson can leave Man City in the summer transfer window if a good offer comes along,” writes Romano. “It is a possibility.”

“Ederson himself is currently considering his options. There is already interest from the Saudi Pro League and the choice is up to the player.”

If the thirty-year-old goalkeeper actually leaves Manchester City, it would come as something of a surprise. Since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, he has been the undisputed number one under the bar and Pep Guardiola has consistently favored Ederson during the current season.

During Manchester City’s last match, the crucial Premier League match against West Ham United (3-1 win), the goalkeeper had to watch. Due to a fractured eye socket, Ederson will miss the end of the season, including next Sunday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United.

His stand-in, Stefan Ortega, may also leave next summer. The 31-year-old German wants to be the first choice under the bar from after the summer break and if that is not an option at Manchester City, Ortega will opt for a departure, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Deutschland.

For the time being, Manchester City and the backup goalkeeper are in discussions about a contract extension. Both parties have not yet reached an agreement, which was mainly due to the financial picture.
