Dzierkals is one of the eight hockey players with whom the club will not continue cooperation.
Dzierkals is the first Latvian hockey player to become the Swedish champion. The Latvian striker collected 2+1 in 45 and 16 games, respectively, in both the main tournament and the play-off, but in the IIHF Champions League he had five goals and three assists in 11 duels.
In the regular championship, Dzierkals was in the minority on the ice for 55 minutes and four seconds, during which time the opponents did not score a goal. It is the second best result ever in the history of the Swedish Championship.
Before that, Dzierkals spent two seasons in the strongest Czech league, representing “Škoda” from Pilsen and “Motor” from Ceske Budejovice.
In 2015, the forward selected in the National Hockey League (NHL) draft with the overall number 68 (Toronto “Maple Leafs”) represented “Saga” and “Riga” at the beginning of his junior career, then played two seasons in the Quebec Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) team Ruinas- “Huskies” of Noranda, with which he became the champion.
After two seasons in the QMJHL, the Latvian forward joined the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League (AHL), however, he played only four games without scoring, and played most of the season in the ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears.
During his career, Dzierkals also played in Finland’s strongest league club “Jukurit” and two seasons in the Kontinental Hockey League unit Riga “Dinamo”.
The striker took part in the 2022 Olympic Games and is currently competing in his fifth world championship with the national team.
