Trier/Oldenburg – Former Oldenburg basketball coach Don Beck is leading the second division Gladiators Trier to promotion to the Bundesliga. This Friday (7.30 p.m.) Trier will take on the Frankfurt Skyliners in the playoff semi-finals, where three wins are needed to advance, with a 2-1 lead. If they lose, Trier would have another chance to reach the final in the decisive fifth game on Sunday (5 p.m.) in their own stadium. This would mean promotion. The American Beck (70) coached the EWE Baskets Oldenburg from 2002 to 2007.
