As part of the ATP tournament, Novak Djokovic commented on the probable end of the Lower Austrian’s career.
“He’s a great guy, a very good person, with very good manners, good values and a family man,” said the 36-year-old.

The 24-time Grand Slam winner of course understands Thiem’s thoughts of retirement after the injury misery of the past few years, but still hopes for the Lichtenwörther’s career to continue.
“We all hope that he finds his level because it was always very exciting to watch him. Spectacular shots, incredible one-handed backhands, forehands, so much power with a lot and intensity that he brings to the court,” noted Djokovic.
“Hopefully Dominic can stay and play as long as he can. He is a very important player for our sport. But only he knows how long he will play,” said the leader of the ATP world rankings.
