Djokovic’s Coaching Shake-Up: Return of the Tyrolean Coach

Two semi-final appearances in four tournament participations so far – Novak Djokovic has so far fallen short of expectations in 2024.

The world number one has deviated a little from the road to success in the past few months. It is clear that these circumstances motivate the Serb and his entourage to take action.

As is now known, an Austrian apparently also plays an important role.

Djokovic brings back the successful Tyrolean coach

It was only at the end of March that the superstar surprisingly separated from his long-time trainer Goran Ivanisevic, and on Thursday Djokovic also announced the end of his collaboration with fitness trainer Marco Panichi.

The Serb Nenad Zimonjic recently stepped into Ivanisevic’s footsteps on an interim basis – the legacy of athletics guru Panichi is now apparently an Austrian.

Gebhard Gritsch, who worked for “Djoker” between 2009 and 2019, is apparently returning to his former protégé’s side. According to Serbian media, the 67-year-old Tyrolean is already in Belgrade to prepare the 24-time Grand Slam winner for his upcoming tasks.

Djokovic will fight for the title in Rome next week after not competing in Madrid.
