The “little brother” of the Himmelsgarten landscape park is growing into a leisure facility with many possibilities in Schwäbisch Gmünd in the Hardt residential area. This will be an immense enrichment for all generations in this up-and-coming residential area.

Where a versatile park for all generations is now being gradually created, sport and leisure have a long tradition. In fact, the baseball field for members of the US armed forces used to be located there – right next to the “Hardt Housing Area”, which was an extension of the barracks and served as residential quarters for soldiers, some of them with their families.
The citizens’ association “Starkes Hardt” with its early chairman Hermann Schoell and the current chairman Oliver Glass acts as an integrating bracket. In addition, the “sunny hill” image has recently emerged and a sense of unity has been promoted across all social classes. The togetherness on the Sonnenhügel is reflected not least in the leisure infrastructure. The city has also invested a lot of money in this.
