Diego Schwartzman will end his career in 2025

Diego Schwartzman will end his active career in 2025. The 31-year-old Argentine announced this on social media on Sunday. Accordingly, Schwartzman will retire from the tennis stage in his home country – probably at the beginning of next year. The 250cc event in Buenos Aires, which begins on February 10, 2025, would be ideal for his farewell.

He wants “the most beautiful ending you can imagine,” says Schwartzman. The 2020 French Open semi-finalist hasn’t had much to be happy about in the recent past, as he fell back to 142nd place in the world rankings due to numerous defeats.

Schwartzman still without a main draw win in 2024

“Today I sometimes have a hard time finding that smile,” Schwartzman wrote. “My competitive spirit prevents me from enjoying, playing and traveling like I used to.” In 2024, the 1.70 meter short Argentine with great fighting spirit has not yet been able to achieve a main draw victory.

Over the course of his career, Schwartzman won 250 tour-level matches and four titles. In 2020, the 31-year-old took part in the ATP Finals in London. Schwartzman’s best world ranking position is eighth.
