Farewell to the city of my birth

The ATP 250 tournament starting on February 10, 2025 in Schwartzman’s hometown of Buenos Aires is a possible farewell tournament. The Argentine won his fourth and last ATP title there in 2021.

“It will be the most beautiful ending you can imagine,” the 31-year-old told the tennis world.

“My competitive spirit prevents me from enjoying, playing and traveling like I used to,” he adds.

French Open semi-finals and ATP finals

Schwartzman can look back on an impressive career and rose to eighth place in the world rankings in October 2020. He won a total of four tournaments at ATP level and celebrated reaching the semi-finals at the French Open in 2020. This also gave the clay court specialist a place to take part in the ATP finals.

“El Peque” is currently ranked 142nd in the world rankings. He has not yet been able to win a match in the main draw of the ATP Tour this year. In Madrid he recently failed in the first qualifying round.
