Diana Shnaider wins the Clarins Trophy against Emma Navarro

Diana Shnaider won the Clarins Trophy this Sunday, a WTA 125 which takes place at Lagardère Paris Racing. The Russian, 62nd in the world, won (6-2, 3-6, 6-4) against the American Emma Navarro (22nd) who had been wandering throughout the week. Both having completed the American university circuit, they will, as at the Australian Open, play Roland-Garros together in doubles.

Shnaider, 20, succeeds Frenchwoman Diane Parry (50th), who lost (7-5, 7-5) in the second round to Erika Andreeva this year. Among the other Tricolores, Fiona Ferro (149th) went as far as the quarterfinals after notably beating Cristina Bucsa (70th), just like Alizé Cornet (99th), who played her 1000th professional match and who will end her career after Roland- Garros. Varvara Gracheva (88th) reached the semi-finals after defeating Katie Boulter (28th).
