Denis Shapovalov Returns to the Geneva Open as Wild Card Recipient

Finalist in 2021, Denis Shapovalov (ATP 126) returns to the Geneva Open. The 25-year-old Canadian left-hander obtained the 2nd wild card issued by the organizers.

World No. 10 in September 2021 before paying a heavy price to a knee injury, Denis Shapovalov is back in action this year. He notably beat Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Masters 1000 in Miami.

Semi-finalist at Wimbledon in 2021 and quarter-finalist at the Australian Open in 2022 and the US Open 2020, the Canadian has often shone in major events. His record is adorned with a title – Stockholm 2019 – and 5 finals, including those of Geneva in 2021 against Casper Ruud and the Masters 1000 of Bercy in 2019 against Novak Djokovic.
