Thomas Tuchel’s role backwards is taking concrete shape. Bayern’s decision to go into the new season with the coach should be finalized this week.

Munich – Thomas Tuchel’s role backwards is taking concrete shape: After tz-Information, FC Bayern’s decision to start the new season with the coach should be finalized this week. Although an agreement was drawn up between club and coach at the end of February to part ways in the summer. And although sports director Christoph Freund only told the Polish TV channel Viaplay at the beginning of May that there was “no chance” that Tuchel would stay with the record champions for another season.

Everything is yesterday’s news. After the Munich team had rejected their advances from Xabi Alonso (Leverkusen), Julian Nagelsmann (national coach), Ralf Rangnick (Austrian team boss) and Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace), Tuchel should now be the number five dream coach again. Friend and sports director Max Eberl are working hard in the background to keep the football teacher employed – and, according to tz information, are no longer taking the concerns of long-time Bayern bosses and current supervisory board members Uli Hoeneß and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge into account. Tenor from the new bosses’ floor: If you are convinced of a decision, you have to enforce it against all odds.

Decision this week: FC Bayern is making progress with Tuchel

Freund is said to have been involved in the decision to part ways with Tuchel in the summer after the first titleless season since 2012, but was largely left out. Eberl only started his job at FC Bayern on March 1st. This now plays into his hands when it comes to justifying his desire to keep Tuchel.

The trainer is not completely averse to continuing to work. But he has conditions for this. The Bayern bosses would like to let Tuchel’s contract, which originally ran until June 2025, the termination of which has reportedly not yet been fixed in writing, continue. The coach, however, is demanding a new contract with a longer term. In order not to seem like an emergency solution.

Tuchel also wants a say in transfers

According to the English newspaper Independent Tuchel also demands a big say in transfers. When it came to squad planning, there was already a clash last summer between the coach, who publicly demanded players, and the Bayern bosses.

But FC Bayern is not Tuchel’s only option. He is considered a hot candidate for coaching at Manchester United if Erik ten Hag is fired. And the Dutchman, who looked after the Bayern amateurs between 2013 and 2015, is also on the Munich team’s radar. Manuel Bonke, Philipp Kessler
