DDEC Partners with Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy to Support Student Athletes

Carlos Beltrán Baseball Academy (CBBA), located in the municipality of Florida, benefited from the Puerto Rico Economic Incentive Fund, assigned by the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), to grant scholarships to its high school students .

According to Manuel Cidre, secretary of the DDEC, the scholarships will be for student athletes who demonstrate talent, dedication and exceptional academic potential. It will be used to cover transportation costs to the school campus for students from ninth to twelfth grades. This is so that they can carry out their educational and sports activities.

“We want sports and the investment in the education of these outstanding students to have a positive impact on their lives and communities. May this initiative serve as a tool to become role models for the benefit of our society and help shape the professionals of tomorrow. We will continue working together to contribute to the progress of the athletes of our Island,” highlighted the DDEC secretary.

For his part, Carlos Beltrán, founder of the CBBA, which has an enrollment of 163 students, highlighted the importance of the agreement between the DDEC and the sports school.

“These types of initiatives favor the growth and development of Puerto Rican youth, paving the way to reap achievements and maximize opportunities. The agreement reached with the Department of Economic Development will allow us to promote sports, healthy living and empower these young people to have a bright and sustainable future,” said Beltrán.

CBBA is a non-profit organization founded in 2011 as a school specialized in promoting academic and athletic excellence among young students in Puerto Rico. He excels at actively participating in providing comprehensive support and resources to aspiring athletes, allowing them to develop their full potential, both on the field and in the classroom.

Includes gymnastics, indoor batting cages, field, pool, stadium, training room, locker room area, breakfast, lunch and snack, and college placement support. 98% of graduate students have received scholarship offers to continue their education at the university level in the United States and Puerto Rico. 70% record retention of university students and the completion of university degrees.
