D1 Arkema: OL crushes Reims and joins PSG in the championship final

Perfect afternoon for Olympique Lyonnais. The fear of losing everything in these playoffs will not happen. The Lyonnaises logically crushed the Stade de Reims (6-0) in their home Groupama Stadium, in front of around 10,000 spectators. And they offer their public a new meeting, Friday evening (9 p.m., Canal +), against PSG for the grand final of the French Women’s Championship with the objective of a 17th title in 18 years in order to continue their overwhelming domination.

The Rémoises, coached by Amandine Miquel, showed color from the team composition. Miraculously qualified for these playoffs last Wednesday, they presented themselves in Lyon with a largely revised eleven with the objective, already, of preparing for the “small final”. Enough to further fuel the debate around these playoffs: with a much more limited squad than that of OL or PSG, did Reims have another choice when its typical team lost twice 4-1 and 5- 1 this season against OL?

Majri’s jewel

Amandine Miquel judged no and therefore already wanted to aim for third place. It will be Friday (6 p.m., Canal + Foot) against Paris FC.

Faced with this slight adversity, OL still had to display their superiority. And did it seriously. Captain Wendie Renard (12th) showed the way. Followed by Danielle Van de Donk (36th) and Amel Majri (43rd), both authors of long-range strikes. Before Kadidiatou Diani (57th, 66th) and Melchie Dumornay (58th) definitely worsen the score.

Still deprived of Eugénie Le Sommer (knee), Sonia Bompastor also had the opportunity to revive her other star of the attack, Ada Hegerberg, who has been absent for two months. Fifteen minutes in the legs which will perhaps make the difference Friday evening in the final. Which we hope will have a lot more suspense.
