Czech Republic is ice hockey world champion – sport.ORF.at

On Sunday, the Czech Republic secured gold at an ice hockey world championship for the first time since 2010. The host team won the final in the O2 Arena in Prague against Switzerland 2-0 (0-0 0-0 2-0), while bronze went to Sweden after a 4-2 win against defending champions Canada.

NHL star David Pastrnak brought joy to 18,000 spectators, and for the Boston Legionnaire it was his first point at this World Championship (50th minute). David Kämpf scored into the empty net (60th minute/EN). The Swiss won silver, as they did last in 2018.
