Cuernavaca Archer Wins Continental Gold and Aims for More Success

Cuernavaca.- Lot Máximo Méndez Ortiz, specialist in compound archery, took a few days of rest in his native Morelos, after representing Mexico in two international competitions: the Pan American Championship, in Medellín, Colombia, and in the World Cup, in Shanghai, China, where he won a continental gold in the men’s team and a fourth place in the world in the mixed team.

“I am living a dream that I had since I was a child: to represent my country with the senior team in this beautiful sport. The truth is that I am so excited that sometimes I don’t even believe it, but I take it with commitment and seriousness. It is the result of a lot of work that I have been doing for years, and I am confident that this is just the beginning of my career,” said the goalkeeper from Tetela del Monte, Cuernavaca.

The athlete visited the offices of the Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), where he showed off his gold from the 2024 Pan American Archery Championship.

He also explained that his next mission will be to go to Yecheon, South Korea, from May 21 to 26, to face the second of three stages of the World Cup series, and did not rule out the possibility of representing the state in the Conade 2024 Nationals, after to arrive from Asia.

The so-called ‘Robin Hood Morelense’ stated that the Aztec representative has supported him in a good way, feeling excited to now be a companion of those he previously saw on television; Likewise, he said he is sure that the discipline of archery is on the rise in the entity, predicting that the new generations will also give good results at the national and international level.
