Counterfeiters fall in CDMX; A credential was found in the name of “Marti Batres Gudarrama” – El Sol de México

A group of counterfeiters who were dedicated to impersonating identities and then stealing bank accounts was arrested by the capital’s police. One of them used a credential in the name of “Marti Batres Gudarrama.”

The Secretariat of Citizen Security, together with the Army and the National Guard, searched a house in the Letrán Valle neighborhood, in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, and detained three men and a woman.

They seized 70 voter credentials, passports and possibly apocryphal licenses. One of them includes a photograph of a man who uses the name of the head of Government of Mexico City, Martí Batres Guadarrama, but misspelled.

The false identification of Carlos Alfonso “R”, alias El Charly or El Güero, has an address in the Polanco neighborhood, in the Miguel Hidalgo mayor’s office.

The police also seized a short firearm, 17 useful cartridges, 51 small plastic bags with a solid crystalline substance, 26 plastic packets containing a solid pill and a box of medicines.

In addition to a gray backpack that contained two electronic devices, a printer and synthetic material for falsifying fingerprints; as well as nine car bills, two cell phones, five checkbooks from different banking institutions and eight circulation cards, five of them from Mexico City and three from the state of Morelos.

According to a cross-check of information carried out by the police, one of the 42-year-old detainees has been imprisoned twice for aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping, in 2005 and 2009.
