Controversial Call Ends White Sox vs Cardinals Game After Rain Delay

Players and fans waited three hours after the rain to see the game between the Chicago White Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals end with a questionable call by the official.

The Cardinals had the bases loaded in the 10th inning trailing 6-5 and were facing two outs when rain forced the game to be halted. We had to wait three hours for the return to play, with Ivan Herrera coming to bat.

Herrera passed up a pitch from Tanner Banks believing it to be a ball, but official CB Bucknor had a different opinion on the matter and allowed the third strike which confirmed the White Sox victory by the mark of 6 to 5.

The two teams thus waited this long to see a single batter come to the plate and the game ended with a shot that seemed outside when we visualize the different times.

The White Sox ended their nine-game losing streak on opposing fields. They are 2-14 on the road this season.
