EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A great opportunity for young Tri-State football players is coming to Evansville this summer.
Colts All-Pro Zaire Franklin is holding a youth camp, along with Gameday Youth Camps right here in Evansville. The camp is being held at Central High School and Central Head Football Coach Brandon Artis is the leader of the camp. Kids will have an opportunity to meet Zaire, and maybe even catch some pointers from the All-Pro through a day of drills. They will also get to learn more about Zaire’s journey to the NFL.
“Just hear his story a little bit, and how he became who he is,” said Brandon Artis. “He’s the underdog guy that had to go through it a little bit and now he’s one of those guys, an All-Pro guy. For me, if I was a kid, the biggest takeaway is a guy that grinded to get where they are, and you’re close to him, and you can be a part of that too, you can grind just like he did.”
The camp will be held on July 13th from 4-7 pm and is open to kids ages 6-16.
