Coaticook Big Bill Starts Season Strong with 16-5 Win over Sherbrooke Expos

BASEBALL. The Coaticook Big Bill started the season on a good note, Saturday afternoon (May 11), when he defeated the Sherbrooke Expos by a score of 16-5, in front of his fans.

In Coaticook, the locals were able to score 4 points at the end of the 4th round to take the lead over their rivals while the game was very close. They added 9 in the next two rounds heading towards the victory which goes to Sora Sakashita’s record, his first victory in the LBMQ. Connor Angel takes the setback for the visitors.

Kirk Fryer drove in two runs on three hits in the loss. For the Big Bill, Maxime Beaudoin produced on five occasions thanks to a double, a single and a sacrifice fly, Samuel Rajotte with three hits in four appearances produced twice, as did Simon-Pierre Soumis with a double in the fifth inning .

The Big Bill (1-0) returns to its fans on Sunday (May 12), around 1 p.m., while Thetford Unicanvas (0-1) will be visiting the Julien-Morin stadium.
