CM2 Students at Alexis Sakaël School Excel in Archery and Receive Rewards

Tuesday May 14 afternoon, as part of the Archery at School operation which aims to promote the discipline as an Olympic sport, the 26 CM2 students from the Alexis Sakaël elementary school went one last time to the SLO Bettancourt shooting range. This was the fifth and final session for the students who were rewarded. The operation was part of a cycle planned with the Bettancourt school and the Reims academy which allowed children to discover the discipline of archery, an Olympic sport. “It’s an educational project linked to the school and Uslo to learn about several Olympic disciplines including archery,” recalled Monica Vallelian, vice-president of the club.

During the five sessions, the students discovered the technique of archery and participated in games to learn the culture of the discipline. They also practiced role-playing exercises with the disability.

The last two sessions took place in the form of a competition where the 26 students divided into two teams of thirteen competed against each other.

In the presence of Marie Chaumont, president of Uslo, the winners received a trophy. Each student received the Brevet d’initiation in archery diploma. As a reward, they also received a bracelet and a pen.

Participants and all elementary school students are invited to participate on Saturday, June 15, in the Olympic day which will take place at the Jean-Jaurès complex. During this day, initiations and archery tests are planned.

  • All CM2 students were rewarded for their participation.
