CHL opponents of Salzburg and KAC have been determined

Austria’s ice hockey champions Red Bull Salzburg face four national champions in the Champions Hockey League (CHL), runner-up KAC faces, among others, defending CHL champions Geneve-Servette HC. This was the result of the draw on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Ice Hockey World Championships in Prague.

Salzburg will face Swedish champions and CHL finalists Skelleftea, Sparta Prague and Danish titleholders SönderjyskE at home. The away game is against the Swiss champions ZSC Lions Zurich, Växjö and the Polish champions from Oswiecim.

The KAC plays at home against the two Swiss clubs Zurich as well as Fribourg-Gotteron and Oswiecim, and away against Geneve-Servette against Färjestad Karlstad from Sweden and Rouen Dragons from France.

For the second time, the CHL will be held in a new mode. In the regular season, starting September 5th, each team will play six games against six different opponents from twelve nations. The best 16 of a total of 24 teams in a common preliminary round table qualify for the round of 16.
