Chilean Tennis Players Tabilo and Jarry Making History and Money at Rome Masters 1000

Alejandro Tabilo and Nicolás Jarry’s dream week in Rome does not stop. The Chileans have already claimed to be among the eight best in the most important tournament in Italy, achieving an unprecedented record for the country, since never before have two Chileans qualified for the quarterfinals in the same Masters 1000 event.

But the truth is that this milestone not only increases the relevance of the players in the history of Chilean sports, but also translates into a million-dollar financial prize. And being within the Masters 1000 category, the Internazionali BNL d’Italia is one of the events on the calendar that gives the most money to the players who compete in it.

Even for 2024, the contest increased the amount of money to be distributed by 2.22%, providing a total of 7,877,020 euros for the men’s team. Of course, this increase in the monetary prize will not benefit the champion or the players who reach the final stages, but is aimed at the tennis players who fell in the first rounds. This seeks to shorten the gap that exists between the top of the ranking, with the tennis players who often enter these tournaments from the qualifiers or through invitations.

For example, in 2023 Daniil Medvedev received a check for 1,105,265 million euros for being champion in Rome, a figure close to 1,100 million Chilean pesos. This year, however, whoever lifts the title will receive 963,225 euros, practically 950 million of the national currency.

With their presence in the quarterfinals of the Rome Masters 1000, Alejandro Tabilo and Nicolás Jarry will receive at least a monetary prize of 161,995 euros, an amount that is equivalent to approximately 160 million pesos.

Of course, if they continue advancing in the tournament, the Chileans will obviously also increase the money they will receive. For example, for this 2024, the semifinalists will win 284,590 euros ($218,000,000) and the player who loses the final will receive 512,260 euros, an amount close to 500 million Chilean pesos.
