Chilean para athlete Jaime Aránguiz qualifies for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Jaime Aránguiz, Chilean para athlete and recent para badminton champion at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, will be present at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. With his inclusion, The Chilean delegation for the next edition of the greatest sporting event has a total of 13 athletes.

The Chilean Paralympic Committee reported that Aránguiz, gold medalist in Santiago 2023, received a Bipartite Invitation from the International Badminton Federation and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). This invitation was granted due to his outstanding position in the world ranking, where he occupies tenth place, and for being the best American player in the WH2 class.

Aránguiz will not only represent Chile in Paris, but will also star in the debut of Chilean para badminton in the Paralympic Gamesa historic milestone for the national sport.

So far, Team ParaChile has secured qualification in three disciplines in which it has never competed before at the Paralympic Games: for taekwondo, for cycling and for badminton. This achievement underlines the growth and diversification of Paralympic sport in Chile, promising outstanding participation in Paris 2024.
