Applications for the basketball tournament for the participation of Ekrem Elginkan High School students and teachers started on May 6, 2024.
Application requirements are as follows.
Teams: 5 nobles; It may consist of boys/girls or mixed girls-boys teams. The number of backups is unlimited.
The tournament will start on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Teams must submit their lists to Physical Education and Sports Teacher Gürsal Abeş by hand or e-mail by Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at the latest. ([email protected]) (Team name, player name-surname-class)
Teams are formed from within the class. It is not possible to transfer players from different classes. (Except for those with small class sizes)
Every student can play on a team.
Teams can choose their own “Coach” from teachers or students if they wish.
The tournament will be held in two categories (Hz / 9th Grades – 10th / 11th Grades) and will be held by elimination method.
Team pairings will be determined by draw after the lists are submitted.
Match starting times
Prep / 9th Grades: 11.20
10th / 11th Grades: 12.10
Teams and referees must be on the field before match time to make the necessary preparations. Teams and officials will be given appropriate time for a post-match meal.
The team that is not on the field at match time is waited for 5 minutes. The team with at least 3 players on the field at the end of the time starts the match with no players. Otherwise, it is considered eliminated.
Unsportsmanlike behavior and excessive objections to referees are punished with a red card. The team that receives a red card continues the game with the missing player.
“Match Times” and “Match Results” will be recorded on the fixture to be hung on the school board. Teams can follow the match time via fixtures.
Tournament Rules
- Matches are played in 2 periods of 12 minutes. (Total time 24 minutes)
- Teams have the right to 1 time-out in each period.
- Player substitution is unlimited. The referee must be informed about any substitution.
- The other player cannot enter the field before the player leaving the game completely leaves the field.
- 3, 5, 8 and 24 seconds and steps rules apply in the game.
- The team that commits a team foul within 1 period will be awarded 2 free throws for each subsequent foul.
- The number of team fouls is five and is renewed in each period.
- The player with 5 fouls is out of the game and cannot enter the game again.
- The half-time rest period is maximum 5 minutes.
