Bundesliga speculation about ten Hag and Lopetegui as Bayern coaches

Who will be the new Bayern coach? There is still a lot of speculation in the search for Thomas Tuchel’s successor. At least on one issue Zinédine Zidane positions himself clearly.
There is also continued speculation about Erik ten Hag in FC Bayern Munich’s search for a coach. The Dutchman, who coached the second team of the German soccer record champions from 2013 to 2015, is considered a candidate on Munich’s list. After Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick do not see their future as coaches at FC Bayern, ten Hag is said to have been informed of renewed interest, according to Sky.
However, Ten Hag is under contract with Manchester United until June 30, 2025 and would like to fulfill his contract. However, there has been repeated speculation that the collaboration could end at the end of this season.
What about Lopetegui?
In addition to ten Hag (54), former Spanish national coach Julen Lopetegui is on the Bayern list. Most recently he worked for Wolverhampton Wanderers. According to the “Süddeutscher Zeitung”, the Spaniard is not available for the job. Lopetegui is hoping for a return to the English Premier League and should negotiate with West Ham United. According to Sky, Bayern had inquired about Lopetegui. The “SZ” reported, however, that there had been no concrete discussions with the 57-year-old recently and that the closer contacts were some time ago.
Zidane comments on the semi-finals
The French world star Zinédine Zidane, who is often reported on in the course of the Munich coaching search, held back when visiting the Formula 1 race in Miami. On the Sky microphone, the former Real coach explained that he was keeping his fingers crossed for his former club in the semi-finals of the Champions League against FC Bayern. When the 51-year-old was asked about the coaching position at Munich, Zidane said that he wanted to watch the next game. He has not yet been considered a top candidate.
As usual, Munich sports director Max Eberl did not mention any names or comment after the 3-1 defeat at VfB Stuttgart. “When choosing a partner, two people have to agree. If only one wants to and the other doesn’t, then that’s the way it is,” commented Eberl. But you don’t start from scratch, emphasized Eberl (50), who created space for speculation with one sentence: “Suddenly doors open where you thought three weeks ago, they are impossible.” “We will find a good decision”.
