Brooklyn Nets to Retire Vince Carter’s Number 15 in Surprise Announcement

The Brooklyn Nets have announced to the surprise of the player himself that next season they will retire the number 15 worn by Vince Carter between 2004 and 2009.

The New York franchise has published a video through its social networks where Carter has received the message through his former partner Jason Kidd.

«Congratulations on having your number retired next to mine. We have 5 and 15,” Jason Kidd said. «You made this game much easier for me. Maybe too easy. But again, congratulations. You’ve had an incredible career. I think you’ve been playing for like 40 years. You deserve it. But understand that you were one of my best companions. You know in New Jersey our game was very simple. You made me be better. So thanks. Congratulations,” highlighted the current Dallas coach.
