Bronny James Impresses at 2024 NBA Draft Combine, Looks Up to Role Models Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Davion Mitchell

USC Basketball guard Bronny James competed against some of the nation’s best athletes at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine. James had a mixed impression at the event, but believes he can make a big impact at the NBA level. He has named 3 role models in the league who are not his father, LeBron James.

James said that Derrick White, Jrue Holiday and Davion Mitchell are NBA players he believes impact winning the way he wants to as a prosecond Dan Woike.

Bronny James may not be the most offensively talented, but like the players he mentioned, he can make a huge defensive impact. James played just 19.8 minutes per game, but totaled 0.8 steals per contest.

Additionally, the USC guard excelled at two key drills that can predict a player’s defensive ability. First, James participated in the agility drill in the running lane with focused quickness. His quick and decisive movements highlighted his great lateral quickness.

Next, James performed the maximum vertical jump test, in which he achieved an impressive score of 103 centimeters. James is clearly capable of being a high-level defender. If he wants to reach his role models, however, he still has a lot of work to do.
