British rider dies in fall

British event rider Georgie Campbell died on Sunday after a fall. The 36-year-old experienced athlete fell on her horse Golbal Quest at obstacle 5b, a fence, at the Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon. Even medical staff and a rescue helicopter team who rushed to the scene immediately were unable to save Campbell, who had competed in over 200 international competitions.

The competition was not continued after the accident. Georgie Campbell was married to rider Jesse Campbell, who represented New Zealand at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
