Boston Celtics Advance to NBA Eastern Conference Final, Dallas Mavericks On Brink of Victory

ROME, MAY 16 – The Boston Celtics qualified for the NBA Eastern Conference final, beating Cleveland 113-98 in game 5 of the series and thus prevailing 4-1 over the Cavaliers. In the West, however, the Dallas Mavericks defeated Oklahoma 104-92 and now lead 3-2 in the series. It is the third consecutive year that Boston plays the Conference final and this time they will face the New York Knicks or the Indiana Pacers, with the former currently leading 3-2. Led by Jayson Tatum, author of 25 points, ten rebounds and nine assists, the Celtics were benefited by the series of injuries that hit Cleveland, on the pitch without Donovan Mitchell, Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert. It was difficult for the Cavs to get the better of the best team of the regular season in such conditions. Instead, the Thunder, the best team in the West, are at risk, but they are unable to keep up with the team led by Luka Doncic, who achieved a triple double with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists. On the other end, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander responded with 30 points, eight assists and six rebounds. The Mavericks can reach the final by winning game 6 on Saturday in Dallas. “We have to win every game out of two and we’re there – said Doncic – but it won’t be a trivial matter. We have to keep the same mentality to close it out”. (HANDLE).
