Blue Jays Crush White Sox 9-2 to Avenge Shutout

After suffering a 5-0 shutout the day before, the Toronto Blue Jays scored seven runs in the second inning to take revenge against the Chicago White Sox with a convincing 9-2 victory at the Rogers Center on Wednesday.

Some Jays players were able to bounce back. Bo Bichette scored three runs in the game, including two with his third homer of the campaign. Davis Schneider and Daulton Varsho also stood out with two RBIs each. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. crossed the plate on two occasions. Chris Bassitt was the starting pitcher for the Blue Jays and he delivered his best performance of the year. The right-hander blanked his rivals for seven innings, allowing only two walks and five hits.

For the Sox, Tommy Pham broke the ice with a long solo ball in the eighth inning. He totaled two hits, as did his teammate Nicky Lopez. Shortstop Paul DeJong was responsible for his team’s other run.

John Schneider’s men have won two of their three clashes against the White Sox this week. They won 9 to 3 on Monday. Worst club in the big leagues, Chicago limited its opponents to two hits on Tuesday.

The Blue Jays will travel to Detroit to begin a four-game series against the Tigers on Thursday.

-Elsewhere in the majors, Quebecer Édouard Julien made three at-bats for the Minnesota Twins and was held in check each time, striking out once in a 3-2 victory over the Washington Nationals .
