The violets had already announced Foucart’s whereabouts in March, and he now expressed his satisfaction with the personnel decision that affected his colleague: “I am very happy that Kenneth has decided to stay with us so that we can continue our collaboration. His hard work, his basketball approach and his attitude match mine very well,” says the Belgian Foucart about his 44-year-old compatriot. “Above all, his personality fits very well into our club culture.”

Kenneth Desloovere was Foucart’s preferred candidate

Desloovere came to Göttingen in the summer of 2023 and was Foucart’s preferred candidate for the assistant coach position at the time. The two former basketball professionals had already worked together on the Belgian U20 national team. “The BG is a great organization where great people work. The level of basketball in Germany is high, very structured and well organized,” says Desloovere, who even took over the leadership position in one game in the season that was coming to an end when Foucart received a double technical foul in Crailsheim and was already in charge before halftime Had to leave the interior of the arena. For the television station DYN, which broadcasts the basketball Bundesliga games, he was always the person to talk to on the microphone during halftimes when it came to summing up the first two quarters, the locker room speech and the outlook for the second half of the game.

Grant Anticevic is heading back to the NBL

The fans, however, have to say goodbye to Grant Anticevic. After a season in Germany, the Australian is heading back to the National Basketball League (NBL) on the Australian continent. There, the New Zealand first division team NZ Breakers, which plays in the NBL, announced the 25-year-old’s signing. Anticevic, who has been on the field for BG in all BBL games so far, averaged eight points and a three-point percentage of 37.6 percent. With 5.1 rebounds per game, he is the Violets’ second-best rebounder behind Karlis Silins (5.7).
