Bayern’s Coach Search: Eberl Teases Nagelsmann and Rangnick

He’s not a fan of that!

Even after the penultimate matchday of the Bundesliga season, Bayern are still without a coach for the coming season.

Now sports director Max Eberl (50) is talking about the search – and is teasing Julian Nagelsmann (36) and Ralf Rangnick (65).

Eberl after the win against Wolfsburg (2-0): “Now we are in the middle of May, it also annoys us that we are not yet as far along as we imagined. We are having conversations, not just with one person, and we want to try to find the new coach as quickly as possible.”

Eberl continued: “There is a lot of support, not only from the media, but also from the protagonists themselves; our opposing party in particular has sometimes presented itself very offensively. I know it a little differently, normally people talk behind closed doors. You agree or you don’t agree and then you part. That doesn’t make it any easier. Now it’s still the case that we have to try to find the best!”

As a reminder: The German record champions had intensive discussions with Xabi Alonso (stays in Leverkusen), Nagelsmann and Rangnick. Alonso never spoke publicly about Bayern’s interest, so the jibe cannot be what he meant.

Nagelsmann and Rangnick, on the other hand, publicly commented on the issue directly or indirectly – which probably didn’t go down well with Eberl…
