Bayer Leverkusen joins Atalanta Bergamo in the Europa League final

Leverkusen qualified for the Europa League final at the expense of AS Roma, once again snatching a draw in added time in the semi-final second leg on Thursday (2-2), and will challenge Atalanta Bergamo, May 22 in Dublin. Winners in the first leg in Rome 2-0, Xabi Alonso’s men were trailing 2-0 half an hour from the end of the semi-final return, on two penalties converted by Leandro Paredes. They reduced the score with an own goal from Gianluca Mancini (83rd) and equalized in the seventh minute of added time through Josip Stanisic, to remain undefeated after 49 matches this season, in all competitions.
