A total of four badminton players from Salamanca qualified directly for the CONADE 2024 National Games and two more are in reserve, all preparing to represent the state of Guanajuato from June 10 to 20 in Campeche, Yucatán.
The national qualifier was divided into two parts, the Sub 15 and Sub 13 category in Oaxtepec Morelos and the Sub 17 and Sub 19 category was held in Nuevo León.
In what is being the return of Badminton from Salamanca to competitions with Gerardo Sánchez and Arturo Ramírez as those responsible, on this occasion four athletes have been able to qualify directly, while two more are training as reserves.
Last year, six badminton players competed in the national qualifier, obtaining the ticket to the highest sporting event, now fourteen participated in the pre-national and there are four who qualified directly, two more are in reserve.
The directly classified badminton players are Paola Delgado (U17) and recent bronze medalist in Guatemala Air Badminton; Gael Sánchez (U17), invited to train at an international camp in Tijuana and with the Aguascalientes national team; Edwin Escoto, in doubles (U17) partnering with Gael Sánchez (U17) and Paulina Martínez (U13). And as a reserve, Alejandro Flores (U15) and Cristian Saldívar (U17) are training.
The Air Badminton medalist, Paola Delgado is going for her fifth national games, previously known as the National Olympics, Gael Sánchez is going for her third National Games, while the rest will represent Guanajuato for the first time within the highest national sports event.
Since 2006, Salamanca had been characterized in Badminton by winning medals for Guanajuato within the great national event with players such as Dafne Hernández, Hiram Mendoza, Arizbet Godínez, Daniela Cruz, Daniel Romero.

Now, as part of a process restarted after the Covid 19 pandemic, Badminton from Salamanca seeks to end the drought without medals registered in recent years within the CONADE National Games.
