AS Monaco Interested in Georgiant Striker Georges Mikautadze as Replacement for Wissam Ben Yedder

Georgian international striker Georges Mikautadze, loaned with an option to buy to FC Metz from Ajax, is in the sights of AS Monaco, which is looking for a replacement for Wissam Ben Yedder.

According to information from RMC Sport, AS Monaco is interested in Georges Mikautadze, the Georgian striker from FC Metz, on loan from Ajax. Discussions with the player’s clan are advanced, the two parties even met recently.

Metz can exercise the purchase option and negotiate with Monaco

ASM will then have to negotiate with Ajax, or Metz if the Lorraine club exercises its purchase option. The 23-year-old Georgian international is the priority to replace Wissam Ben Yedder who is not expected to extend.

Left for the Netherlands in August 2023, then returned to the Grenats in January, Mikautadze scored 13 goals in 20 matches with Metz, allowing the club to secure a play-off place in Ligue 1 (matches scheduled for May 30 and 2 June against Rodez or Saint-Étienne).

Georges Mikautadze left Metz for Ajax at the very end of the summer transfer window. But he only played nine games without scoring a single goal with the Dutch club, which was in a bad situation sportingly and behind the scenes.
