Arthur Rinderknech withdraws before his quarter-final in Lyon

The French Arthur Rinderknech, 73rd player in the world, withdrew from the Open Parc in Lyon, when he was to face the Italian Luciano Darderi on Thursday in the quarter-finals, the organizers announced. Rinderknech eliminated the American Frances Tiafoe, 26th in the ATP rankings and seeded n°5, on Wednesday (7-6 [4]6-4).

Darderi, 47th player in the world, will therefore face in the semi-finals the Argentinian Tomas Etcheverry, seeded n°6 in the event, who won on Thursday at midday against the German Dominik Koepfer (67th) 6 -4, 6-1.

The last two quarter-finals will pit the Kazakh Alexander Bublik, 19th in the world and seeded n°2, against the Russian Pavel Kotov then two Frenchmen, Hugo Gaston (104th) from the qualifications, and Giovanni Mpetshi-Perricard (117th), a young 20-year-old Lyonnais benefiting from an invitation.
