The women’s team of the Arc club of Nîmes has fulfilled its contract. Made up of Victoria Sebastian, Maia Tincu, Anaëlle Florent and Mélanie Gaubil, it won six of the eight matches played during this day, thus retaining the lead in the provisional ranking with two lengths ahead of Riom and Compiègne.
In the rain and an irregular wind, the team coached by Lionel Allasio was able to do well, conceding only two defeats against direct opponents.
The Nîmes thus find themselves in a very favorable position before tackling the fifteen matches of the return phase in a few weeks, even if they will be deprived of Victoria Sebastian, retained in the French team. The level of performance of Maia Tincu, Anaelle Florent, Mélanie Gaubil and the return of Erika Jangnas will allow them to face the other teams without complexes.

The men’s team, deprived of Baptiste Addis, had less success. Made up of Franck Eyeni, Iban Bariteaud, Thomas Aubert and Jean-Charles Valladont, it won five of its eight matches. The team made too many mistakes in the decisive matches against direct candidates for the play-offs, Rennes, Clermont and Compiègne.
It is Rennes who ends this first leg in the lead with 13 victories. Nîmes is fourth but with the same number of points (12) as second Clermont and third Compiègne. If the Gardois remain in the race for the play offs, they will be deprived of their two internationals, Baptiste Addis and Jean-Charles Valladont, for the return match phase.
