Luanda – The senior national judo team, of both sexes, travels today (Thursday) to the United Arab Emirates, to participate in the World Championship which will take place from May 19 to 24, in Abu Dhabi.
The Angolan team includes judokas Edmilson Pedro (-66kg), Leonel Barros (-60kg), Maria Niang (-70kg) and Piter Shuma (+100kg).
Judoka Leonardo Barros will fight on May 21, Edimilson Pedro on the 23rd, Maria Niang, and Piter Shuma on the last day.
Piter Shuma, Edmilson Pedro and Leonel Barros will try to score points to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The Angolan caravan is led by the president of the Angolan Judo Federation, Gildo Santo.
