Ana/Tiwi and Chico failed in the top 16

Indonesian women’s doubles Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi stopped in the last 16 Malaysia Masters 2024. The same as three points in men’s singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo.

In the match on Court 2 Axiata Arena, Thursday (23/5) afternoon WIB, Ana/Tiwi, who were the third seeds, had to admit the superiority of the Chinese pair Keng Shu Liang/Zhang Chi with 16-21, 17-21.

In the first game, Ana/Tiwi actually took the lead 8-4. But the Chinese doubles then got up and took the lead without the Indonesian pair being able to stop them.

Ana/Tiwi were 3-8 behind at the start of the second game, until they finally equalized the score. Through five consecutive points, Ana/Tiwi also managed to take the lead 13-10.

However, this advantage failed to be maintained. Ana/Tiwi finally lost in the second game and failed in the round of 16 in a match that lasted 36 minutes. Indonesia no longer has representatives in women’s doubles Malaysia Masters 2024.

Meanwhile, in the previous match, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo had to recognize the superiority of Hong Kong player Jason Gunawan after a three-game duel.

Chico started by losing in the first game, but recovered to equalize. But after 52 minutes, Chico had to admit his opponent’s toughness in the third game. He lost 6-21, 21-16, 10-21.

This result meant that Indonesia no longer had a representative in the men’s singles event Malaysia Masters 2024. Prior to this, another representative, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, had already been eliminated by Anders Antonsen in the first round.
