Let’s return to the Amex Ofina Padel Cup 2024, which brought together almost 260 participants for a week of intense competition, from Tuesday 23 April to Sunday 28 April. Sunday’s final crowned the new champions of this new tournament.
This competition, classified Grand Chelem Women and Men, has attracted diverse talents from different sporting backgrounds. Basketball, surfing, swimming, squash and even badminton champions have taken up the challenge, thus contributing to the growth of this sport which continues to attract more and more fans. The tournament’s single-elimination format with one match guaranteed for each team added an extra dose of excitement. The players played in B2 format, with two sets of 6 games and a decisive point. In case of a tie, the teams will decide the third set and a 10-point super tie-break.
The friendly and good-natured atmosphere was omnipresent throughout the event, with five padel courts animated by matches. Alongside the matches, introductions to padel as well as family activities were proposed, allowing the children and families present to discover or share their passion for this sport. There was also a cash incentive prize up for grabs, with a reward of 100 Pacific Francs for the winners, 000 for the second place and 60 for the third place.
On the women’s side, the Leilani Brothers/Edelweiss Brothers duo rose to first place, followed closely by Estelle Tehau and Angelina Siu in second place. Third place went to Heimana Chung and Maima Spiche, while fourth place went to Mélanie Gallier and Moana Bien-Aimé.
Among the men, the duo Guillaume Baigts/Manoa Desvignes took first place, followed by Jérémy Duchier and Cédric Minery in second place. Third place was occupied by Bruno Laitame and Kévin Pons, while Vincent Huet and Yann Chingue took fourth place.
This is the first edition of the Amex Ofina Padel. The 2024 Cup demonstrates the growing enthusiasm for this dynamic and exciting sport.
