“All it takes is a spark”: amateur football plagued by gang violence

A glance at the shelves reveals the life of Claude Deville-Cavellin. Trophies, jerseys, pennants are piled up there. The man who receives us in his office as president of the Essonne football district was also a player and then a coach. He knows the grounds of 91 by heart. “That” is the growing violence which is ruining the daily lives of dozens of amateur clubs in Essonne, month after month. “A plague which represents 99% of our worries”, according to Claude Deville-Cavellin.
