Jaylen Brown saves Boston Celtics in overtime

The first few minutes belonged to Boston, after three minutes the score was already 12:0 and the guests seemed completely overwhelmed. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle quickly brought in some of his bench players and this stabilized the offense in particular, because Indiana could not stop the Celtics. TJ McConnell (13, 6/11) and Obi Toppin (13, 6/8) played good minutes, the Pacers slowly found their way back and were only behind 31:34 after one quarter.

Boston still got into the zone at will and scored a number of open three-pointers, but they only fell moderately (7/22 at halftime). In particular, Al Horford (15, 3/12 3P), whom Indy liked to let throw, hardly hit anything. On the other hand, Turner caught fire from outside and also scored in the zone. Shortly before the break the guests had equalized the game, Hallburton finally set the final point of the half with a logo three-pointer, everything was level at 64:64 after 24 minutes.

Indiana even took the lead for a short time, but then the Celtics had their best phase of the game so far. Tatum converted a few jumpers, and the guests only knew how to do that with fouls. It was a 13-0 Celtics run that spanned nearly four minutes, but again it was Toppin and McConnell who brought Indiana back. History repeated itself, so it was Halliburton again, who sank a wild three-pointer with Brett at the end of the quarter and reduced it to 93:94 before the final period.
