[미디어투데이=안상일 기자] Gyeongsangbuk-do Gimcheon Office of Education held a resolution ceremony in the conference room on the 3rd floor on May 22 to encourage and strengthen the resolve of the athletes participating in the 53rd National Boys Sports Competition.
The 53rd National Boys’ Sports Competition will be held in Mokpo City from May 25th to 28th, with 12 participants in 6 sports: 2 in track and field, 23 in swimming, 10 in badminton, 5 in taekwondo, 2 in boxing, and 1 in horseback riding. 43 student athletes from the school will participate representing Gyeongsangbuk-do.
About 30 people, including principals, instructors, and school sports leaders from each school who did their best to support and guide the athletes during winter training to improve their performance, gathered together and pledged to do well.
In particular, Kim Jong-hyeon, head of the Sports Industry Department at Gimcheon City Hall, and Choi Han-dong, president of the Gimcheon City Sports Council, also attended and encouraged the students and said that they would continue to help athletes become Gimcheon sports talent.
Superintendent Gong Hyeon-ju encouraged them, saying, “I hope that you will do your best to raise the status of school sports in Gimcheon City by not wasting the skills you have honed over the years, and that you will show off your skills without regrets.”
