Frenchman Zaccharie Risacher scored 28 points in Bourg-en-Bresse’s defeat against Nanterre on Saturday, in the quarter-final of the French Championship. He thus established a new personal mark for the number of points in a match. Risacher made five of his seven three-pointers and had six rebounds in 29 minutes of play.

The six-foot-eight player is considered one of the top prospects in the upcoming NBA draft by the network ESPN. Risacher declared himself eligible for the draft on April 22.

Against all odds, the Atlanta Hawks won the NBA lottery on May 12 and will draft first place. Another Frenchman, Alex Sarr, is the presumed first choice in the draft according to the most recent “mock draft” by Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Wood ofESPN. Risacher would go second overall and end up with the Washington Wizards according to both analysts.

This season, in 17 Eurocup games, Risacher is averaging 13.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, in addition to making 56.1% of his three-point shots.

He will be in action again on Tuesday, when JL Bourg hosts Nanterre for the third match of the series.
